Your ex (or soon-to-be ex) may be able to draw from your Social Security account when she retires or becomes disabled if you were married for 10 years or more, and if she doesn’t remarry, and if she would be entitled to more money from your account than her own.

Those are a lot of “ifs.”

But it really doesn't matter, because even if she does end up drawing from your Social Security account, it won’t affect the amount of your benefit in any way.

There are plenty of other things for you to worry about, but this isn't one of 'em. (Whew!)
